Many folks thought the cash for clunkers program was over. The program has not been suspended and will continue to run throughout weekend...maybe longer.
The program has been a huge success with dealerships selling over 200,000 cars across the nation under the cash for clunkers incentive in just one week. So if you were thinking of trading up you better do it this weekend!

"The program will be in place" for anyone who had been planning to make a car purchase this weekend, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told CNN. "This program appears to be a success for car buyers, car dealers, car companies and taxpayers."
The Cash for Clunkers law, which Congress passed in June, is set to end at the end of September or whenever its $1 billion budget has been depleted....which appears to be now.
